This page is intended to provide a list of important dates for the 2007-2008
Log1 contest. Details on administering the tests and scoring are given
elsewhere.
October 2007
9th - Registration opens. Sponsors may go into the registration system and
register their school. You will need your Mu Alpha Theta school number.
After verification (1 to 2 days). Sponsors may register their schools
up to the time the tests are avaiable. Later registration will mean that
the school is only eligible for later rounds of the contest.
November 2007
The Log1 database will be loaded with student names from the national office. Sponsors should go to the student information page and check that all their students are there and enter each student's math division using the pull-down menu. If a student that will be taking the test is not there, the sponsor should go to the national site and register them. Additional feeds from the national database will be made during each of the contest rounds. Also, during this month a test email containing a link to a sample file.
December 2007
1st to 15th The first round test on Topics will be available to
registered sponsors. These tests will be in Adobe pdf form and the
sponsor will need the free Adobe
Reader to view and print the tests. The Topics include: Geometry, Applications and Logarithms/Exponents. Students will
each take one exam of their choosing and at their division: Theta, Alpha or Mu. After the tests are administered and scored, the sponsor should return to the student page and enter the score (and division if they have not already). Students must have divisions entered for their scores to count!
January 2008
16th to 31st - The second round test will be given on a
convenient day during this period. Scores must be entered during this time as well.
March 2008
1st to 15th - The third round test will be given on a convenient
day during this period.
April 2008
Awards will be distributed to winning individuals
and schools.
